OpenFolk seeks to provide performance opportunities for artists in their own communities and to give them exposure via the Internet. As OpenFolk grows, it is expected that a regular group of folks interested in folk (and blues and roots, etc.), from the local community, will attend the free weekly open stage events. Further, the OpenFolk presence on the Internet will allow people from around the world to be exposed to, and enjoy, the artistic efforts of those in communities that have implemented OpenFolk programs. Performances are recorded in high definition video from multiple angles and via quality sound recording equipment. The videos then have the mastered sound recordings added to them (replacing the simple sound recording of the video camera). Feature performers receive 1 of their songs YouTube-ready with mastered sound tracks and multiple angle video for free, as a token of our appreciation. If you would like to do a feature performance at the Simcoe OpenFolk Sunday Open Stage Jamarama in Barrie (ON, Canada) please contact Doc Higgins: doc@dochiggins.net For new developments and updates: http://www.openfolk.net |
